More interaction, more experiments and more collaboration is needed!

What could be done by teachers, school principals and students to make lessons more interesting and engaging?

This question was asked to students of the International school (ISP) in Palermo, Italy delivered by CESIE during the CARMA second Educational Forum on 23rd May 2018.

Through engaging activities, a group of students, teachers and stakeholders shared the meaning of their names, reflected on their emotions related to this school year and released their creativity during the storytelling activity “I know what you have in your pocket”. Moreover, they learnt about the CARMA project, its results and impact, and tested out some of the tools that we developed during the last 2 years of the project.

In response to the question asked by Ruta, CESIE’s NFL Expert for CARMA, about what could be done to make lessons more interesting and engaging they all univocally agreed: more interaction, more experiments and more collaboration is needed!

The results from the Forum highlighted even more the necessity for teachers to know their students as learners and to foster new methods of learning that can better empower, motivate and engage each student in the classroom.

So when thinking about what is crucial to building good classroom practices, why don’t we listen to the future generation and make them part of the conversation on how we can support schools to meet the challenge of providing both inclusive and effective education?
